The 30 and 31 of March, the Museum of Cinema and the University of Girona have organized the 11th International Seminar on the history and origins of cinema under the title ‘Presences and representations of women in the early years of cinema 1895 – 1920’. Under the XI Seminar as usual related to the origins of cinema as a means of social communication works they are also presented. This edition has paid special attention to the research project A Million Pictures. Magic Lantern Slide Heritage As Artefacts in the Common European History of Learning. For that reason, Carmen López, Beatriz González de Garay, Marta Francisco Javier Frutos Cerezo and presented the empirical study from the use of content analysis as a method for obtaining a controlled vocabulary to facilitate the classification of magic lantern slides based on their speech genre.
